The history of Georgia, by Imogen West

“James Oglethorpe is a big part of Georgia.  He wanted to let out people in jail and start a colony.  Then he went on a ship and met Mary Musgrove and Tompchichi, two Indian friends.  If James was not born there might be no Georgia.”

So let me get this straight.   James Oglethorpe the illustrious founder of Georgia, was a jail-breaking gangster, who was the leader of a ship-board cult….

Obviously her teacher is a talented woman, because she was able to see beyond all the jail breaking and cult leading, and graded this piece of work as an ‘A’.

James 'Manson' Oglethorpe sailing his ship, 'The Waco'. I think that is Mary Musgrove screaming in the bow.
